Target kills it again with custom towels to slowly rub off the spray tan before replacing it with real tan in Miami for Art Basel. Julian Schnabel, Elizabeth Peyton, Ed Ruscha and Raymond Pettibon are just some of the names commissioned to keep you dry with high art for Art Basel Miami. Buy them at worksonwhatever.com before they disappear.

Limited-Edition Towels by Julian Schnabel, Elizabeth Peyton, Ed Ruscha and Raymond Pettibon

to Premiere at Art Basel Miami

Target® is proud to once again be partnering with Art Production Fund [APF] to sponsor the Artist Towel Series 2008. The series is part of the second annual WOW (Works on Whatever), a unique collection of everyday items designed by artists to bring art off the walls and into homes. This year’s series features four 60×70 inch cotton towels designed by acclaimed artists Jeff Koons, Elizabeth Peyton, Cindy Sherman and Kehinde Wiley.

Artist Towel Series 2008 are the official pool towels for Andre Balazas’ Raleigh hotel, during Art Basel Miami 2007. Towels will be available for sale at Target.com, as well as at select locations at Art Basel Miami. Towels retail for $50 and the revenue from sales will support APF’s mission to introduce contemporary art to a larger community and to help fund additional major civic artwork projects.

“Art Production Fund is excited to partner with Target for the second year to extend the exposure of these great contemporary artists to audiences who may not otherwise see their work,” said Yvonne Force and Doreen Remen, Co-Founders. “The towel series makes it easier for public audiences with an interest in art to get their hands on exclusive products designed by renowned artists.”
