Marc Jacobs Mens Ready-to-wear Spring ‘10 collection has dropped! Hopefully this signals the emergence of “Patrick Bateman guest-starring in an episode of Miami Vice-esque fashion” and flushes out all that goth ninja nonsense that’s been dominating men’s fashion for the past 2 years.

Adam Kimmel’s lookbook for Fall / Winter 2009 puts Factory alum Gerard Malanga behind the lens to recreate Warhol’s famously awkward screentests from so many decades ago. Stacked from top to bottom with familiar and talented faces, all methods of artistic expression get screentime as Kunle Martins, Matthew Barney, Francesco Clemente, and Glenn O’Brien – to name a few – sit on the hot seat in heavily shadowed awkwardness. KL Makes Downtempo Tapas Video.
We strive daily at WMIG to take our Karl Lagerfeld obsession to great new heights. At times this even involves pointing a gun at an unpaid intern to make sure Karl gets googled all day and night. So when this accessory video slipped through our fingertips and onto a million other blogs before it came to our attention we felt like failures. To us, KL is the only bro who can string together jewelry, models, and headpieces into a dialogue-less music video for some downtempo tapas lounge singer and have us be like: “You’re sick, Karl! You’re sick!”
Miles Davis on 60 Minutes.
Before Miles Davis left this mortal coil he was kind enough to give an interview to 60 Minutes’ Harry Reasoner. The rasp, the venom, the sly hilarity; none of them fading with age as he politely sat like a gnarled piece of bark across from the pasty establishment of 60 minutes. To his credit, Harry manages to take it well.

Longtime Vogue editor, Anna Wintour, sat under the 60 Minutes microscope recently and actually took off the sunglasses she uses to hide the steely reptilian gaze the whole world is afraid of. Check it out HERE.
Valentino: The Last Emperor
I guess I sorta slept on this past festival season so I might be behind on this one– but it looks like a must see.
“Valentino: The Last Emperor is a feature-length film on the legendary designer Valentino Garavani in the wake of his exit in 2008 from the company he founded in Rome more than 45 years ago. Produced and directed by Matt Tyrnauer, Special Correspondent for Vanity Fair magazine, the film is an intimate, engaging and very funny fly-on-the-wall exploration of the singular world of one of Italy’s richest and most famous men. Item Idem
We don’t fully know how to describe artist, designer, bon vivant: Item Idem, but we definitely have plus size boners for the art he makes. His wiki describes him as: ”Austin Powers pretending to be Philippe Starck, art directed by Marcel Duchamp and scripted by Oscar Wilde“. There’s really an endless amount of things to go through on his website and by the time you reach the end you’ll feel slightly cheapened and a little made-fun-of. But overall, if we had to describe a theme it would be: Item-Idem subtly says fuck you, disneyland. But that’s just our take away.

The NYTimes blog, The Moment, has a great post taking you through the history of the Chanel No. 5 short film series that began back in 1960 with Richard Avendon and Vicky Hilber, progressed through the 70s with Catherine Deneuve and culminated with Baz Luhrmann’s Nicole Kidman epic. Always coupling a fantastic director with an iconic beauty, Jeunet’s take is no different with his muse, Audrey Tautou, featured in the latest film. Read on

I’m not the one to speak authoritatively on NYC gay culture, but any movement that throws vogueing, 90’s vocal house, men’s leggings, Gucci Mane, happy hardcore & 2-step into a homo-thug blender AND makes sense out of it, is kinda-sorta killing it in every aspect of creativity. Our favorite fashion blog has been stepping it up a bunch lately since it’s big move to NY and at this rate it won’t be long before DISCOFUNBATH becomes ground zero for finding out how cuffed pants, bowties, and the Art Ensemble Of Chicago all go together.
